A Natural Haven for Happier, Healthier Horses
In Huger, South Carolina, Mustang Alley Ranch offers a pasture-style boarding experience that prioritizes your horse’s well-being and your peace of mind. We offer a variety of configurations, depending on whether your horse enjoys their own space or thrives in a small herd.

Unlike traditional boarding facilities where horses spend half their lives locked in small stalls, we embrace a more natural approach. We believe horses are happiest and healthiest when they can live as nature intended—roaming freely in open spaces, grazing on lush grass, and socializing with their neighbors. Studies, like those from the American Association of Equine Practitioners, state that horses in natural environments experience less stress, fewer digestive issues like colic, and improved joint health compared to those confined in stalls.

Here at Mustang Alley, your horse will enjoy ample room for moving around as they please to promote physical health, mental stimulation, and emotional well-being. With a commitment to equine hospitality, we’re creating a sanctuary where horses thrive and boarders feel like family.

Tailored Care for Your Horse
We know every horse is unique, which is why we offer a range of optional services to customize their care. Our 'a la carte' pricing lets you be in control and ensures you pay only for what your horse requires. For example, performance horses require more grain and higher caloric intake than those on retirement... Some horses take daily supplements, while others only need them given bi-weekly. To ensure fairness and transparency, we've implemented a flexible pricing structure that is curated for each horse. This cost breakdown might also help justify why barns must charge the prices they do —with hay/grain prices being high, and countless hours of labor spent caring for each beloved horse.
Here's how the freedom of customized care works, starting with monthly Self-Care Board as the foundation:
-
Self-Care Board: $600/month - we provide grassy paddock, 24/7 access to run-ins, automatic waterers, free-choice salt blocks... you provide & feed hay/grain, plus keep your horse's space tidy

Trace Mineral Block: $10/month - we supply & replace as needed (50 lb blocks)
